Oxalic Acid Varrox Vaporizer

The Varroa Mite Oxalic Acid Vaporizer is made to last! Forked design ensures the vaporizer will not overturn in the hive. Comes with copper battery clamps to create a solid connection to power source. Also included is a ½ teaspoon (2 grams) measuring cup for accurate Oxalic Acid measurement and 1 – N95 organic vapor mask. Be sure to wear mask, safety glasses, and gloves! Instructions included. Requires a 12 volt battery. Oxalic acid and battery not included.

Oxalic acid vaporizer treatment for mites uses ½ teaspoon (2 grams) of oxalic acid. Insert into entrance of hive, seal entrance with cloth, and attach copper clamps to battery for 2 minutes with a fully charged 12 volt car battery or deep cycle battery. Remove vaporizer and leave hive sealed for 10 additional minutes. Finally, remove cloth. Use wet cloth to clean. Do not submerge in water.

Why use Oxalic Acid Vaporization? Numerous studies show it is 90-99% effective at killing phoretic (physically on the bees) varroa mites. Because oxalic acid only kills these varroa mites and not those in the brood, it is usually used for treatment in the late fall or early winter when brood count is low but the temp is above 40° F. OAV treatments do not require you to open the hive or any installation and removal of medicated strips, making it a simple and easy but highly effective varroa mite treatment plan.
