Lyson Fondant is excellent for year round feeding but especially good for late winter and early spring feeding as it doesn’t add any unwanted moisture into the hive. Lyson Fondant is made with all the essential sugars, carbohydrates, vitamins, proteins and amino acids that honeybees need to thrive. Ready-to-use paste-like feed used for emergency feed, or for additional winter food stores. It strengthens the beehive during the coolest seasons, boosts its productivity and improves its resistance to pesticides.
Lyson Fondant is composed of micro-crystals of an average size of 15 µm. Each crystal is coated with a layer of glucose syrup, especially designed to be easily consumed by honeybees.

Many professionals have studied and identified that sugar syrup promotes early growth of the hives but also affects bee health negatively at critical stages of growth during the season. Early season hive death has been observed during colder than normal Spring, due to cold syrup intake by the bees. Lyson Fondant will not be stored in cells, and therefore can also be used in the summer during a low or absent nectar flow.
The recommended feeding on a double brood box hive consist of 2 packs mid august when honey is removed, 4 packs for over Winter and 2 packs in the Spring buildup. Please keep in mind that sustainable beekeeping will include a few frames of honey reserved from the past seasons harvest."
